Regis Summer Institute

The Regis Summer Institute is a tuition-free summer enrichment program for curious and motivated rising 8th grade Catholic boys. Seeking to engage students with in-depth and interactive curricula, the Regis Summer Institute offers intensive, two-week courses in engineering and debate. What is the Regis Summer Institute?

The Regis Summer Institute is a two-week summer program that will take place from July 7 through July 18, 2025. The program runs from Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at Regis High School in Manhattan (55 East 84th Street). Students can take intensive courses in either engineering or debate. Each course is hands-on and project based: Students work closely with their peers and instructors to develop new skills and engage in truly creative work. In addition, each day students will receive additional instruction preparing them for the HSPT Exam (the Regis Scholarship Test), as well as recreation periods and time in the Regis chapel for ongoing spiritual formation.

Who is eligible for the Regis Summer Institute? Why are there eligibility requirements at all?

Applicants to the Regis Summer Institute must be 7th grade Catholic boys, in keeping with Regis's mission.

The Regis Summer Institute is designed to enhance Regis's outreach in the New York City metropolitan area. With this in mind, the Admissions Office has selected various zip codes as eligible; students whose primary residence is one of these zip codes are automatically eligible to apply for this program. Please enter your zip code in the box below to see if your family is eligible.

Additionally, as part of our mission to serve families with financial need, any family with a household income of $197,000 or less for a family of four (with adjustments made for household size) is automatically eligible for this program regardless of their ZIP code.

Students and families that are not eligible for the Regis Summer Institute are still warmly invited to apply to Regis and encouraged to participate in upcoming Regis Admissions events. Admission to the Regis Summer Institute does not guarantee admission to Regis High School.

How do I apply?

All applicants must submit a baptismal certificate, a copy of their 6th grade report card, a short student statement, and a medical form, and they must request a recommendation from a current teacher.
