Regians Explore Interests in J-Term Courses
Though summer break began with the end of final exams last week, more than 60 Regis students returned to 84th Street this week to participate in J-Term courses. Typically held on college campuses between semesters, J-Term allows Regians to delve into interdisciplinary topics outside the framework of the academic year, and occasionally outside of the school building itself.
J-Term at Regis takes place each June and offers intensive-study opportunities in subjects chosen by teachers. It also allows faculty members to explore alternative teaching techniques, which could later be integrated in the standard Regis curriculum to improve the student learning experience.
This year, students chose from six J-Term courses:
- Archival Exploration (with Dr. Allison Tyndall)
- Deep Dive on the Trojan War (with Mr. Louis Cicalese)
- God and A.I. (with Mr. Louis Cicalese)
- Macroeconomic Analysis of the European Union (with Mr. Casey Quinn)
- Mural Painting in the Art Room (with Ms. Robyn Prezioso)
- Read This NOW (with Ms. Clair Quaintance and Mr. Christopher Rose)
