Seniors Join in Prayer at 2026 Baccalaureate Mass
Seniors gathered in the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola for the annual Baccalaureate Mass on Thursday evening. Joined by their families and the Regis faculty, students had the opportunity to pray together as a class for the final time before Saturday's Graduation Exercises.
President Rev. Christopher Devron, SJ, served as the principal celebrant of the Mass, which was concelebrated by Vice President for Ignatian Identity and Formation Rev. James Ferus, SJ; Special Assistant for Ignatian Formation Rev. Kevin Spinale, SJ; and guest clergy from students' parishes.
In his homily, Fr. Devron encouraged the Class of 2026 to trust in what the French Jesuit priest, scientist, and theologian Rev. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, SJ, called the slow work of God. "Wherever the future takes you, go forward in hope," said Fr. Devron.
During the Mass, seniors were invited to the altar to receive their St. John Francis Regis medals, honoring their achievements over the past four years. The Mass also recognized the senior class's extraordinary commitment to being Men for Others, highlighting their involvement at 60 service sites and more than 25 service events this year.
The 109th Graduation Exercises celebrating the Regis Class of 2026 will take place on Saturday, June 6, at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola at 11 a.m. ET. To watch the ceremony live, visit regis.org/livestream.
