Regis High School Announces Updated Mission and New Vision

Regis High School’s Board of Trustees has approved a revised mission statement and a new vision statement that will guide the development of the school’s next Strategic Plan and help shape the future of Regis:

Our Mission

Regis High School transforms Catholic young men into leaders devoted to Deo et Patriae and lifelong service as Men for Others. Merit-based and committed to families with financial need, Regis provides an academically exceptional, tuition-free Jesuit education within a caring community.

Our Vision

Regis High School seeks to deepen the transformation expressed in the Profile of the Graduate at Graduation (i.e., becoming Open to Growth, Intellectually Proficient, Religious, Loving, and Committed to Doing Justice) so that, moved by their baptismal vocation and their personal faith in Jesus Christ, Regis students will more fully engage the evolving challenges and opportunities of the world and the Church.

The board’s adoption of these statements is the outcome of months of reflection and collaboration among trustees, faculty, staff, parents, and alumni. Last fall, members of the Regis faculty and staff engaged in a comprehensive review of the school’s mission and the six foundational pillars that have guided Regis since its founding.

Those pillars will remain central to the school’s identity:

  • Catholic, as a defining characteristic of our students
  • Academic excellence
  • Formation of young men
  • Ignatian spirituality and service to others
  • Tuition-free, merit-based education with a commitment to families with financial need
  • A community rooted in the Jesuit value of cura personalis (holistic care)

While the historical circumstances surrounding these pillars have evolved since Regis was founded in 1914, their enduring value continues to guide the school today. The revised mission and new vision aim to express more clearly the transformative impact of a Regis education while remaining faithful to the values and principles entrusted to the school for more than a century.
