Regis Rep Charms Audiences With Its Production of Guys and Dolls

The Regis Repertory delighted theatergoers with its vibrant production of Guys and Dolls during four performances from April 10–12. Set in 1950s New York City, the classic musical follows gamblers, showgirls, and mission workers as unlikely love stories unfold amidst a backdrop of dice games and swing music. The Rep’s rendition brought high energy, sharp humor, and nostalgic flair to the beloved show.

The production — led by Regis Rep moderator Ms. Gena Reisig and directed by Ms. Maura Malloy — showcased the talents of actors from Regis and actresses from other local schools.

Guys and Dolls was an enormous success, with more than 825 guests attending the shows," said Ms. Reisig. "This show took the combined efforts of more than 80 students and adults to get it off the ground, but it was a wonderful experience for all. On a bittersweet note, this was the final show for 10 Regis seniors, but they were all instrumental in helping the Rep build back over the last few years after Covid. We will miss them!”

The success of the performances was made possible by the dedicated efforts of the stage crew, set designers, musicians, tech crew, and stage managers.

"Guys and Dolls was the perfect way to end our spring season in the Rep," said Henry Quinn '26, production stage manager and assistant crew chief. "With a supremely talented cast and a crew that handled every challenge thrown at it with skill and drive, I think it's safe to say that the fourth production of Guys and Dolls at Regis was a roaring success."
