Regis Shows Off School Pride During Spirit Week Festivities
Students, faculty, and staff are taking part in Regis's annual Spirit Week — four days of activities, competitions, and grub days leading up to Friday's annual basketball tripleheader against Xavier.
On Tuesday, the seniors triumphed in the annual senior-faculty basketball game, while students and teachers also took part in an after-school game of Family Feud. Other events included a paper airplane contest and a Clash Royale tournament. Students on Tuesday were encouraged to wear the jersey of their favorite sports team.
On Wednesday, Mr. Anthony DeBonis joined students in delivering good-natured barbs during a roast of Mr. James Scacalossi '83 P'15'20. After school, brave faculty and staff members took part in the Hot Ones Challenge, answering questions while downing increasingly spicy wings. Sophomores won the freshman-sophomore basketball game, and for Wednesday's grub day, each advisement group chose its own theme.
On Thursday, students shaved their heads for charity as part of the St. Baldrick’s initiative, while the seniors prevailed in the junior-senior basketball game. For Thursday’s grub day, students were encouraged to wear shirts with “little white lies” about themselves.
On Friday, students filled the auditorium for a lively pep rally in advance of the annual basketball tripleheader against Xavier. Regians formed a sea of red to salute our teams before our players and fans head down to 16th Street for the games. Also on Friday, faculty competed in a morning game of Jeopardy!, with Mr. Lou Cicalese emerging as the winner.
