Regis and Dominican Academy Show School Spirit During Annual Walkathon
Students from Regis and Dominican Academy participated in the annual Walkathon on Friday, showing school spirit on the streets of the Upper East Side and in Central Park before returning to 84th Street for a full slate of activities.
The Walkathon is a Student Government-run initiative meant to strengthen the school community and encourage Regians to reflect on the generosity that has kept Regis tuition-free since its founding. As students seek donations, they also share the story of the school with neighbors, parishioners, and family members.
"It's a great tradition that we've had since 1987, where we're able to foster interschool community between Regis and Dominican Academy, as well as the one time a year where we ask Regis students to help raise money for the school," said Regis Student Government President Finn Kearns '25. "It's also just a great way to get outside, have fun, and just enjoy a day off at Regis."
Following the walk, members of both schools' communities returned to Regis, where the Student Government planned an afternoon of activities including kickball, Spikeball, and karaoke. In the Quad, students enjoyed a barbeque, then had an opportunity to dunk their classmates in the always popular dunk tank.
